Aurore Tillac

Choral and Orchestral Conductor

Conductor of the French Army Choir within the Republican Guard since 2007, Aurore Tillac is nonetheless an artist who embraces diversity.

A 2001 graduate of the Paris CNSM (specializing in choral conducting with a focus on Gregorian chant), she joined the ensemble Dialogos, whose albums, including “Terra Adriatica”, “La Vision de Tondal”, “Abbo Abbas”, and “Dalmatica” have won numerous awards.

Equally active with amateur musicians, she has served as conductor of the Paris Universities Symphonic Choir, among others, and currently leads the La Fontenelle choir and orchestra. From 2007 to 2018, she founded and directed La Manufacture Vocale, a mixed vocal ensemble offering a wide-ranging repertoire that spans everything from deeply rooted folk music to classical and contemporary works of the 21st century.

She joined the French Army Choir as assistant conductor on November 1, 2005, and has served as its principal conductor since 2007. In this capacity, she has collaborated with numerous conductors such as Pierre Boulez, John Nelson, Jacques Mercier, Lucie Leguay, and Hervé Niquet, Jean-Christophe Spinosi, Paul Daniel, Kazuki Yamada, Maxime Pascal, Mikko Franck, and Daniele Gatti, among others.

She is regularly invited to work with various institutional choirs, such as the Radio France Choir, serving both as a lead choral conductor and as a specialist in male voices.

In 2024, she founded the vocal group Vox Singularis, comprising around ten professional singers, with a repertoire ranging from jazz to international a cappella pop.

In 2025, she founded the Vox Universalis choir a flexible ensemble ranging from chamber to symphonic scale bringing together amateur and professional singers to perform a vast classical repertoire.

As a conductor, she is an associate conductor with the opera company "Les Voix Concertantes" (Artistic Director: Manon Bautian) and collaborates regularly with the Garde Républicaine and Artiste Opéra orchestras. Early 2026 will see the launch of the Allegro Barbaro Orchestra, which will explore a wide range of musical styles under her artistic and musical direction.

She produces podcasts for the Forum Opéra website, in which she converses with figures from the arts world such as Véronique Gens, Hervé Niquet, Adèle Charvet, Sandrine Piau, Juliette Nourredine, and many others.

She is an Officer of the Order of Arts and Letters and a Knight of the National Order of Merit.
