Conductor

A French conductor and organist born in 1986, Gaëtan Jarry is the founder of the Marguerite Louise ensemble.

“Gaëtan Jarry, a highly acclaimed Mozart conductor” — Le Figaro

After a career marked by numerous top prizes at the Versailles and Saint-Maur-des-Fossés conservatories, Gaëtan Jarry also holds an organ diploma from the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Paris.

In 2016, he became the titular organist of the historic Grand Organ at the Church of Saint-Gervais in Paris. His passion for the voice and early music repertoires led him to found the Marguerite Louise ensemble, a leading choir and orchestra on the new international Baroque scene. Gaëtan Jarry is also one of the principal guest conductors of the Royal Opera Orchestra of Versailles, at the helm of which he conducts works such as Mozart’s “The Marriage of Figaro” and “Don Giovanni”, as well as Bach’s “St. John Passion”, Handel’s “Coronation Anthems”, Mozart’s “The Abduction from the Seraglio”, and for the current season Donizetti’s “La Fille du régiment”.

With a discography comprising some fifteen recordings acclaimed by international critics, he focuses largely on French Baroque music; he infuses the "Marguerite Louise" aesthetic into large-scale choral and orchestral repertoire, including operas and grand royal motets by Lully, Charpentier, Lalande, Rameau, and Mondonville. As a soloist, he released “Noëls Baroques à Versailles” in 2019, recorded on the Great Organ of the Royal Chapel at Versailles in collaboration with the “Pages” of the Centre de musique baroque de Versailles, followed in 2020 by “Le Grand Jeu” (a recital disc centered on the French Baroque organ) and Handel’s organ concertos (2021).

In 2023, he released the opera “David et Jonathas” by M.-A. Charpentier.
