Ludmilla Bouakkaz began her training in the Performing Arts program at the Maîtrise Populaire de l’Opéra-Comique before joining the specialized classical voice program at the Paris Regional Conservatory (CRR). She went on to pursue a Bachelor’s degree in classical voice at the Royal Conservatory of Brussels. She subsequently joined the prestigious Académie Favart at the Opéra-Comique and participated in the “Parcours Interprète” program with ARCAL Jeune Scène Lyrique. Alongside her musical career, she holds a Research Master’s degree in Foreign Languages, Literatures, and Civilizations (LLCE) from Paris IV Sorbonne University and studied at University College London (UCL) as part of the Erasmus exchange program. A recipient of the Denise and Malvina Menda Scholarship, she is also active as a conductor and serves as the artistic coordinator for the Maîtrise Populaire de l’Opéra-Comique’s touring production of “Gypsy”.
Ludmilla Bouakkaz collaborates regularly with the Opéra-Comique, where she sang the role of Fantasia in Offenbach’s “Le Voyage dans la lune” (a production filmed for television and revived at the Athens Opera, directed by Laurent Pelly). She also performed the roles of Amarante and Hersilie in Lecocq’s “La Fille de Madame Angot” there, under the direction of Hervé. ...Niquet and in a production directed by Richard Brunel, the role of the Witch in Humperdinck’s “Hansel and Gretel”, and served as the understudy for the role of Cupid in “L’Autre Voyage” (based on Schubert) under the direction of Raphaël Pichon.
She participated in the production of Mozart’s “La Clemenza di Tito” (Chorus), conducted by David Stern and directed by Héloïse Sérazin.
In the realm of musical theatre and film-concerts, she joined the cast of the production of Boublil and Schönberg’s “Les Misérables” at the Théâtre du Châtelet and on a national tour (directed by Ladislas Chollat, conducted by Alexandra Cravero). She sang in the vocal ensemble for the “Attack on Titan” film-concert tour across France, Germany, and Belgium, and performed in “Les Parapluies des Demoiselles” (a tribute to Michel Legrand) at the Agora in Agen and the Casino Barrière in Toulouse.
Ludmilla Bouakkaz has worked, among others, under the musical direction of Alexandra Cravero, Hervé... Niquet, Raphaël Pichon, David Stern... and with stage directors Richard Brunel, Ladislas Chollat, Sylvia Costa, Laurent Pelly, Héloïse Sérazin...
She has appeared as a soloist in the Requiems of Fauré and Mozart, Brahms’s “German Requiem”, the “Stabat Mater” settings by Pergolesi and Rossini, as well as the latter’s “Petite Messe Solennelle”.
