Marilou Rolland

Soprano

Introduced to music at an early age through violin studies, Marilou Rolland naturally gravitated toward theoretical musical studies; in 2014, she earned a Bachelor’s degree in Musicology from Paul Valéry University Montpellier III, where she simultaneously discovered the practice of classical singing.

She went on to study at the CRD in Nîmes and subsequently the CRR in Montpellier, in the vocal classes of Daniel Salas, Nicolas Domingues, and Philippe Bodin. In 2018,while also winning the Prix de l’Orangerie de Sceaux at the Ravel Academy,she entered the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Lyon to study under Mireille Delunsch and Sylvie Leroy; there, in 2020, she obtained the "Diplôme National Supérieur Professionnel de Musicien" (DNSPM) in voice.

She is currently pursuing her Master's degree.

Versatile, she explores a wide range of repertoires,from the Middle Ages to contemporary music,styles she has honed under the guidance of Els Janssens Vanmunster (Mora Vocis), Brigitte Lesne, François Bazola, Serge Cyferstein, and Henri Farge.

As a soloist, she gained stage experience with Opéra Junior at the Opéra Comédie in Montpellier, performing in "L’Enfant et les sortilèges" by Ravel (The Squirrel) and "Geneviève de Brabant" by Offenbach (Brigitte and Eglantine).

In independent productions, she appeared in 2017 in "L’Ivrogne corrigé" by Gluck (Mathurine) and, more recently, performed at the CNSMD de Lyon during the "Scènes Lyriques" in "Dialogues des Carmélites" by Poulenc (Madame Lidoine) and "Armide" by Gluck (Armide).

In concert and recital,beyond her appearances at the Festival de l’Orangerie de Sceaux (2019) and various smaller festivals in the Languedoc-Roussillon region,she is frequently sought after for contemporary works (such as "Silence", "Tant nombreux sont les fous", and "Cerveau" by Sami Naslin; "Isadora" by Emmanuelle Da Costa; and "Arianna" by Henri Farge).

With a keen interest in ensemble music; alongside her training in various choirs at the Montpellier CRR and the CNSMDL, she has helped launch several ensembles such as "Hortus Deliciarum" (2012), "Esquisses" (2016, directed by Guillemette Daboval), "Ekho" (2018, directed by Caroline Semont-Gaulon), and, more recently, the ensemble "L’Hydre" (2021).

Marilou thus brings to the table an experience spanning over a hundred concerts.
