A French-Polish composer, Sylvia Filus holds a degree in Film Scoring from the École Normale de Musique de Paris and a degree in Orchestration from the Conservatoire Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Paris (First Prize).
A recipient of the "Trophée de la Réussite au Féminin" (Women's Achievement Award) at the French National Assembly, she has composed for various instrumental ensembles and for around twenty films, including the feature film "Le Bout du monde" by Hakim Noury and the feature documentary "Fishermen" by Viktoria Marinov.
Her music expressive and characterized by a strong melodic and orchestral identity is regularly commissioned and performed across Europe and the United States. Notable performances include the "Chopin Symphonique" concert in the Wieliczka Salt Mine, the "La Musique des mots" festival in Poland, the Osmose festival in Luxembourg, the Spring Concert in Italy, the "B.O. Concert" in Paris, as well as concerts in New York and Key West, Florida.
In 2024, Sylvia received the Best Original Score award at the Moonlight International Film Festival for her orchestral score for the film "Quand je serai grande" by Yves Levy. She is also a member of the Contemporary Classical Music Commission at Sacem.
