Iason Liossatos, 30, is a bass-baritone holding Greek, Swiss, and Australian citizenship.
Since 2023, he has been studying voice with Brigitte Wohlfarth at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater in Leipzig, where he joined the “Meisterklasse” (master's program) in October 2025. Previously, he earned his bachelor's degree in Dresden and began his vocal training in 2015 at the Richard Wagner Conservatory in Vienna.
The son of a concert pianist, he grew up in a deeply musical environment.
He has gained extensive stage and concert experience, notably as a soloist in Bach’s “St. John Passion” and “Christmas Oratorio”, as well as in the roles of Pinellino (”Gianni Schicchi”, Kiel Theatre) and Peter (”Hänsel und Gretel”, Berlin Opera Academy).
Masterclasses and scholarships have taken him to the Lotte Lehmann Akademie, among other venues, where he collaborated with the Brandenburg Symphony Orchestra. His repertoire includes roles such as Don Alfonso, Figaro, and Don Pasquale.
Iason Liossatos is fluent in four languages, German, English, French, and Greek and has a good command of Italian.
He will perform the role of Sciarrone in “Tosca” at Oper Leipzig during the 2026/2027 season.
