Laure Poissonnier

Soprano Laure Poissonnier joined the Paris National Opera Academy after completing a Master of Vocal Performance at the Royal College of Music in London, a Bachelor’s degree in Musicology at Paris IV-Sorbonne, and an advanced performance diploma (“Prix de perfectionnement”) at the Paris CRR.

She was a member of the Aix-en-Provence Festival Academy in 2021 and participated in the “Opéra de-ci de-là” contemporary creation residency.

At the Paris Opera, she served as the rehearsal cover for the role of Adina in Donizetti’s “L’elisir d’amore”, in a production directed by Laurent Pelly at the Opéra Bastille.

She has performed as a soloist in Haydn’s “The Seven Last Words of Christ on the Cross” with the Orchestre de Pau Pays de Béarn under the direction of Fayçal Karoui.

At ...with the Opera Academy, she participated in various productions, including the contemporary work “Vol Retour” by Johanna Lee, and performed the roles of Euridice and Speranza in Monteverdi’s “Orfeo”, Mrs. Julian in Britten’s “Owen Wingrave”, Amour in Rameau’s “Les Fêtes d'Hébé”, Helena in Britten’s “A Midsummer Night’s Dream”, and the Duchess’s Page in Verdi’s “Rigoletto” (directed by Claus Guth) on the main stage of the Opéra Bastille.

The Paris Opera’s Young Audience program cast her in “Merveille”, a new work by choreographer Pierre Rigal, performed at the Opéra Bastille and subsequently on tour in France and Switzerland. This production was also presented at the Hivernales d'Avignon festival and the Rouen Opera.

Laure has furthered her training through masterclasses with Philippe Jordan, Ildar Abdrazakov, Irène Kudela, Jeff Cohen, Philippe Cassard, and Jean-Paul Fouchécourt.

In 2023, she gave a recital at the Black Forest Festival in Wuxi, China, accompanied by the Beijing New Sympathy Orchestra. Laure and pianist Louise Akili regularly perform their recital “Paris – Cherbourg – New York,” a program ranging from the repertoire of Francis Poulenc to... ...musical theatre, featuring the works of Michel Legrand and Leonard Bernstein, at the Accolades Festival Eaux Plurielles, at the church in Isigny-sur-Mer.

She performed in six recitals with the Paris Symphonic Orchestra in August 2023. Laure is regularly invited to perform sacred music at the Church of Saint-Paul-Saint-Louis in Paris, accompanied by the Alegria Orchestra. She also performs jazz and musical theatre repertoires at the Paris Wine Museum. Laure served as a classical soloist for the Worakls Orchestra’s 2022 European tour, performing an electro-symphonic repertoire alongside DJ Worakls.

While touring China, she performed with the Paris Opera Consort, a group comprising musicians from the Paris Opera Orchestra. Laure has also performed at "Candlelight" concerts at the American Cathedral in Paris with pianist François Moschetta and appears in a Bach, Vivaldi, and Handel program alongside the Ensemble Musicâme France.

National Geographic offered her a cinematic opportunity in the series “Genius: Picasso”, where she acted and sang an excerpt from Puccini’s “La Bohème” alongside Antonio Banderas.

She is also frequently invited to perform at the Festival 1001 Notes!, the FestiVal de la Chéronne, the Festival Ravel, the Académie de la Saline Royale, and the Festival ADE.

In September 2023, she performed an a cappella rendition of &rlquo;La Vie en Rose” at the Stade Français Paris to open a rugby match. Passionate about music and its therapeutic benefits, Laure holds a certificate in clinical music therapy, a field in which music serves as a medium to restore communication and treat relational and emotional disorders.
