Songha Lee

Soprano

Since beginning her musical training in France, Songha Lee has maintained a steady performance career centered on the operatic repertoire. She is distinguished by her stage commitment, a rich and resonant sound across all registers, and a confident stage presence.

In 2025, she performs the title role in “Tosca” in a concert version in Paris with the Orchestre Ut Cinquième under the direction of Guillemette Daboval. She also serves as the understudy for the role of Mimì in “La Bohème” at the Atelier Lyrique de Bourgogne in Dijon, sings Violetta in “La Traviata” at Forges Opéra, and performs the role of the Rooster in “The Cunning Little Vixen” at the CNSMD de Lyon. That same year, she earns her Master’s degree in Performance from the CNSMD de Lyon (June) and wins the "Concerts au Coucher du Soleil d'Oppède-le-Vieux" Prize at the 17th Gordes International Art Song Competition (September).

She also received the French Sung Waltz Prize and the Masters of Singing Excellence Competition award in Paris, as well as several special prizes: the Contemporary Opera Special Prize, the Brasov Opera Special Prize, the Musica Le Mans Special Prize, and the Jules Massenet Special Prize at the Georges Enesco International Singing Competition in Paris.

In 2024, she performed the role of Cio-Cio-San in “Madama Butterfly” with Les Escales Lyriques in a production directed by Paul-Emile Fourny, as well as Countess Almaviva in “Le Nozze di Figaro” at the CNSMD de Lyon, directed by Daniel Estève and conducted by Julien Masmondet. She also appeared as a soloist in Donizetti’s “Messa di Requiem” with the Lyon Choral Academy Choir, conducted by Bernard Tétu.

In 2023, she sang Mimì in “La Bohème” at Forges Opéra, as well as the roles of Diane and Lena in “Quand Hélène rencontre Orphée”, a new production by the CNSMD de Lyon supervised by Philippe Forget and Bernard Rozet.

In 2022, she won the First Prize (Female Category) at the Forum Lyrique International Competition in Arles, and performed the role of the First Lady in Mozart’s “Die Zauberflöte” at the CNSMD in Lyon, in a production directed by Bernard Rozet and conducted by Nicolas André.

Alongside her studies, she has attended numerous masterclasses with renowned artists such as Anna Pirozzi, Nicole Car, Alexandre Dratwicki, James Baillieu, Andrea Carè, Barbara Frittoli, Anne Le Bozec, Jeff Cohen, Vincent Le Texier, Irène Kudela, and Marie-Ange Todorovitch, thereby enriching her vocal technique and operatic interpretation.

She recently performed the role of the Fifth Maid in “Elektra” at the Arsenal in Metz, as part of an Opéra de Metz production. Upcoming engagements include various concerts and productions, notably Berg’s “Sieben frühe Lieder” with the Orchestre Ut Cinquième under the baton of Johannes Le Pennec.
